The Site Manager is responsible to work for with Project Manager of the civil construction site and manage the onsite project work. This includes overseeing the work of all subcontractors, ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget, managing materials and deliveries and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil roading and earthworks construction principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and management skills. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to make sound decisions under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Work with the project manager to manage the site operations
Oversee the work of all subcontractors
Ensure that the project milestones are completed on time
Maintain a safe and productive work environment
Manage the schedule for the project
Inspect the work of subcontractors and make sure it meets specifications
Communicate with the project manager and keep them updated on the progress of the project
Resolve any problems that arise during the construction process
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field
5+ years of experience in the construction industry with experience in civil construction, road and earthworks.
Strong understanding of construction principles and practices
Excellent leadership and management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to be able to travel to construction sites within Northland
