Warranty Engineering Supervisor
The Supervisor - Warranty Engineering is responsible for leading the team in reviewing and analyzing customer warranties for failure mode and responsibility, communicating trends and lead improvement teams. This role will also lead the processing of claims for payment and communicate data trends to the organization for continual improvement.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead and co-participate with cross-functional teams on warranty analysis
Lead and drive 8D's with preventive and corrective actions to full closure on warranty failure modes until eradication.
Collect, analyze, interpret and publish warranty data for cross-functional teams and Management Reviews. Identify out of control periods and resolve proactively with the cross functional teams.
Define, develop, and drive implementation of action plans to bring products back to control
Responsible to suggest and implement measures necessary to improve the quality, safety and effectiveness of the project
Monitor and track warranty expenses / accruals / reserves by cost center
Leads and improves Warranty Process
Leads participation on Customer Warranty meetings to present warranty trends, 8D's and action plans to drive improvement
Maintain customer and Stoneridge Warranty databases, inputs and outputs within customer timing requirements
Work with supplier development and quality engineers to ensure our expectations from suppliers are met to resolve Warranty issues
Maintain health/paynter charts for assigned product lines
Maintain records and reports in a professional manner. Document and maintain records for lessons learned.
Support design and gate reviews as needed for warranty risk and cost assessments.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
EXPERIENCE:
5 – 7 year experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering or product engineering. Automotive preferred
KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to perform Weibull analysis, comprehensive knowledge of different OEM applications (Portals)
Understands business terms and model, focusing on Customer Warranty
Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization
Capable of building networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and business results
Strong customer relationship skills
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning
Understanding of the need to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward and ability to select and assertively communicate actions and activities that maximize organization performance.
Demonstrated experience aligning people and culture with changes in business strategy, organizational structure, technology and business processes
Understands successful performance management techniques and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance
