Offshore Installation Engineering Team
As part of our offshore engineering department based in Rotterdam, you will be surrounded by colleagues with various offshore engineering disciplines in a dynamic and multi-cultural work environment. Our offshore installation engineering department is highly versatile and regardless of your current competencies, you will be given the opportunity to broaden your offshore engineering skills and experiences. The position will be office based. However, you may be requested to join offshore operations on occasions in line with project requirements.
As a Project Surveyor at NKT you will be responsible for the preparation, acquisition and management of hydrographic and geophysical survey operations within both NKT projects and proposals.

As a Project Surveyor at NKT you will be responsible for the preparation, acquisition and management of hydrographic and geophysical survey operations within both NKT projects and proposals.
What you will do:
- Provide technical support to translate Client survey specifications into an appropriate survey philosophy which aligns with NKT standards and interests and results in effective project execution.
- Provide technical support to translate tender/project documents into contract survey requirements.
- Provide technical support for the preparation of RPP / RFQ regarding survey works; review and evaluate survey proposals.
- Advise on number of required survey campaigns, installation corridors, equipment choice and their accuracy, vessel size and vessel duration of the various project survey campaigns.
- Provide survey management i.e. take the lead in working out further details with the survey contractor related to schedule, workflow and data flow, deliverables.
- Survey operations, and deliverables from subcontractors managed according to overarching survey strategy and according to contract.
- Give support to ongoing survey campaigns: joining mobilization and demobilization activities, create and review survey procedures, systems calibration, daily reporting, quality control of results, follow up with NKT reps and/or shore support from Survey Subcontractor.
- Provide shore-based technical support and qualified technical survey decision making.
- Is familiar with new technologies and survey methodologies.
- A degree in Hydrographic survey, Survey engineering or similar.
- +5 years of experience in a similar position
- Offshore survey experience; multibeam surveys, side scan sonar surveys, magnetometer, UXO surveys, and sub-bottom profilers
- Understanding of calibration requirements and procedures of the different survey systems and sensors. Is familiar with new technologies and survey methodologies
- Experience with Oil & Gas and Renewable industries technical specifications and standards
- Knowledge with GIS and survey software such as Arc GIS Pro, Eiva Navimodel, Auto CAD, QGIS.
- Be a team player with a solution-orientated mindset and competent analytical skills.
- Ability to keep deadlines even under pressure
- Highly proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong safety behaviour with regards to offshore operations
