Process Technician
Additive manufacturing or 3D printing technologies represent a promising market in the materials sector to realize adapted and functional parts. One of the most widely used technologies is DLP (Digital Light Processing) or VAT polymerization. Admatec Europe develops and produces 3D printers based on this technology.
Admatec www.admateceurope.com is part of the Nano Dimension group and specializes in additive manufacturing of ceramics and metals. Admatec designs and manufactures printers and develops various ceramic and metallic feedstocks for printing. The current Admaflex 3D printing technology in the market is based on layer-by-layer curing of photosensitive polymers containing metal or ceramic powders. During the printing process, the layers are added and cured with the help of UV-photo curing. After the printing, the parts are cleaned and then thermal de-bonded and sintered to a dense material. Our sister company, Formatec Technical Ceramics B.V. produces ceramic and metal parts by injection molding and printing. Both companies are part of Formatec Holding owned by Nano Dimension www.nano-di.com and are therewith a division of an international world player in Additive Manufacturing.
Additive manufacturing of powder metallurgical materials is a combination of three consecutive and connected factors, first the preparation of polymers-based slurries or feedstocks, then the 3D shaping process and finally the de-binding and sintering. To coordinate these 3 steps, we are looking for a Process Technician who will operate on the Admaflex 3D printer and analyze materials with different characterization tools. This position will be located in Alkmaar, the Netherlands.
Work description
You will be part of the Admatec materials team. The primary function of this position is to assist in the operation and control of equipment throughout the materials manufacturing process, from slurry formulation to sintering, following detailed procedures and safety guidelines. The technician must be able to keep documentation and results and communicate effectively with the team and provide feedback on testing. Your work will be a support for the R&D team, so you will be part of a multidisciplinary team including engineering, powder metallurgy, software & production. Your main tasks will be:

- Follow procedures to operate 3D Printer and slurry mixture with attention to detail.
- Follow procedures to perform experimental tests using different characterization tools.
- Update, initiate and participate in process improvement based on testing.
- Report, enter data accurately and timely and keep documentation.
- Organize and prioritize tasks
- Able to multitask, adaptability & flexibility.
- Keep workspace clean and organized
- Adhere to quality and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications/ Skills
- 3 years of directly applicable experience operating machines in a lab or manufacturing environment.
- Experience on additive manufacturing techniques will be a plus but not mandatory.
- Understanding and ability to follow process procedures.
- Ability to organize and maintain a safe and clean workspace.
- Curious, autonomous and self-motivated.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Fluent English, reading and writing skills.
