Hotel Arena is immediately looking for a Housekeeping Manager

The Housekeeping Department
You can imagine that such a large and monumental building (with 141 hotel rooms) requires a lot of cleaning, especially when there are many visitors and events.
The Housekeeping Manager works under the direction of the General Manager to keep the premises clean and tidy. You manage your own team of Supervisors and employees and work closely with the professional team. We are always there for each other at Hotel Arena. Besides our unique hotel rooms, there are also meeting rooms and our showpiece; the Chapel that need to be cleaned. To do that in and around such a beautiful location is certainly not a punishment.
Your job
Every day you make sure the Supervisors and Employees know where they are going to work that day and make schedules that fit the talents and availability of our people. You manage 3 supervisors who check the rooms and help distribute the work. As a manager you are very strong in managing and motivating people. Like no other you can select the right new colleagues for vacancies and you are our first contact for external parties. If we run out of cleaning products or amenities for the hotel rooms, you make sure that they are replenished on time. The internal procedures are clear to you and you make sure that everyone works according to the correct hygiene and safety regulations.
Your talents
In addition to your talent for managing teams:

• You are a true connoisseur of housekeeping / cleaning.
• Fulltime available (38 hours)
• You understand better than anyone how the C/O and S/O cleaning works.
• You have Administrative skills such as MS Office and scheduling programs like Dyflexis.
• You regularly work in the execution, focusing on supporting the team.
• You are flexible in attendance, both weekends and weekdays.
• Living in or near Amsterdam, you can easily reach us by bike or public transport.
• You are a real go-getter and understand that together with the team you can make the difference in our hotel.
• A linguist, you speak several languages (Spanish is a big plus).

• When you sign your contract, you get an 8-month contract and participate in internal/external training & education. After that you have a chance for two one-year extensions before you are offered a permanent contract.
• Your salary is in line with the market, we pay according to the collective labor agreement and this position is scaled in 8/9. Your experience is leading for your scale, somewhere between EUR 3052 and 4220 gross per month.
