What does the ROLE entail? Our accounting team members all share the daily tasks but each team member has a focus on a specific area. Your area of focus will be Accounts Payable and cashiering which includes the following:
Processing invoices: collecting backup and purchase orders, coding and scanning invoices, verifying payment proposals, ensuring suppliers are paid timely, responding to supplier inquiries;
Cashiering: daily reconciling cash received, cash counting, preparing bank deposits, issuing petty cash payments, preparing daily general cashier report / journal, preparing petty cash journal and management of Glory automated cash machine. Identifying cash needs of the hotel and ordering cash on the website of the cash handling service company;
Reconciling Gift Voucher, Petty Cash, Over & Short, Tip, and Due Back accounts;
Daily reconciliation of credit card payments and follow up on pending payments and charge backs
Application of payments from our loyalty program World of Hyatt
Following up with other hotel staff on invoices pending for approval in our procurement system;
Assisting with month-end closing process by preparing accruals and journals;
Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
Providing internal and external auditors with required documents.
Other tasks you will perform on a less regular basis will include:
Income Audit: preparing daily revenue and payment reconciliation, auditing outlet cover information, processing entertainment checks, performing spot checks;
Commission handling: controlling commission batches and handling travel agent inquiries;
Finalizing invoices for groups and events in our billing system
Processing of daily bank statements / posting of deposits in Opera
Organize credit meetings and chase outstanding payments together with our sales department and front office
Filing of historical information in a way that provides easy access;

Qualifications Your EXPERIENCE:
Minimum one year in a similar position, full time or traineeship, in the finance department, preferably of a Hotel;
A degree or qualification in Finance and Accounting or Hospitality Management;
Great problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills;
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows, strong Excel skill are preferred;
Knowledge on hotel applications (Opera PMS, Micros Simphony POS, Birchstreet) preferred;
Experience with Glory automated cash handling machines;
Fluent in English and preferably Dutch;
Legally allowed to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit for the country (we do not assist with Visa / permit applications).
