Job Duties and Qualifications
Under direct supervision, the Associate Well Engineer will perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic well engineering principles. This position is responsible for learning well operations and metrics, as well as, understanding HMS processes and governmental, environmental and contractual requirements is responsible for well proposals and the Basis of Design. Provides Well Operation or Intervention Plans and prepares Programs or procedures, as well as assures technical integrity of Operations planning and execution. Responsible for running Engineering Applications and conducting performance analysis, benchmarking and evaluation. Participates in design using engineering applications. Required to perform a portion of these duties on a rig site / well location. Responsible for the day-to-day surveillance of operations. Responsible for the creation of Approval for Expenditure (AFE) and performs cost control of operations, as applicable per sub-PSL. Participates in risk assessment, forecasts and plans medium and long term needs to meet program requirements, and anticipates operational changes and needs. Prepares equipment lists and identifies long lead items. Ensures proper communication within the project. Performs engineering studies to solve recurring problems. Prepares End-of-Well reports and contributes to knowledge management. Requires a Bachelor&aposs in STEM, preference in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering, and 2 or more years of well services experience. Well Supervisory experience and exposure to Multi-discipline operations is preferred. Must have appropriate Well Control Certificate per sub-PSL.
