Primary Purpose
Leading and executing Six Sigma improvement projects across SI O&M companies. This role involves applying Six Sigma methodologies to analyze data, identify process inefficiencies, and implement solutions to enhance operational performance. The Specialist will collaborate closely with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) directors to drive continuous improvement and achieve strategic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead Six Sigma projects using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology to address process inefficiencies and improve operational performance: 50%
- Develop project charters, define scope, and set project goals in collaboration with O&M directors and other stakeholders: 10%
- Utilize statistical tools and techniques to analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and develop actionable improvement plans: 20%
- Use data visualization tools (e.g., Minitab, Tableau) to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders: 10%
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions on Six Sigma principles and tools for O&M teams, to promote a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making: 5%
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on project progress, results, and lessons learned: 5%
Education
Education Level:
Bachelor's Degree
Major/Description:
Engineering, Statistics, Operations Management, or a related field. Six Sigma Black Belt certification is required;
Advanced degree and/or Master Black Belt certification.
Experience
- 10+: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Six Sigma or process improvement roles, preferably within the energy sector or a similar industry
- 5+: Proven experience in leading Six Sigma projects and using data analysis to drive improvements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies, statistical analysis, and process improvement tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Experience with data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, Excel) and data visualization tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in driving improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams
Other Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, assurance, six sigma or a related field.
