In addition to its investment work, IFC operates a major program of private sector advisory services projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. The program's objectives are to promote direct investment in the private sector, build local businesses and financial intermediaries, and help improve the business-enabling environment, and hence contribute to poverty reduction in LAC.
IFC is seeking to recruit an experienced Driver to be based in Mexico City, Mexico. The selected candidate will provide a full range of daily official transportation requirements as well as general office support.
The selected candidate will report to IFC’s Mexico Country Manager, and use the official IFC vehicle to transport the IFC Mexico Country Manager, two Industry Regional Directors based in IFC Mexico Office, other office staff, mission members, and visitors. The Driver will also be responsible for delivering documents, goods or supplies and coordinating with client offices and Government Ministries for delivering and collecting official documents.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide transportation for official business for the Head of Office and other local and visiting IFC staff as needed in Mexico City and within Mexico as required.
Ensure staff follows Road Safety Guidelines as passengers and ensure safety of passengers and vehicle (lock vehicle doors, safe parking areas, identify safe routes, etc.).
Collect and deliver official documents to Government officials, IFC clients, Embassies, etc., as needed.
Responsible to update IFC vehicles log-book of vehicles use on a regular basis for proper recording of mileage.
Ensure periodic maintenance and repair needs of IFC’s vehicles are performed; responsible for update of maintenance record is kept accordingly.
Perform daily vehicle security check up; ensure safe keeping of vehicles accessories (e.g. jack, first aid kit, spare tires, flashlight, etc.) and general cleanliness measures regularly.
Ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
Follow UN directives; be informed of daily security advisory provided by UNDSS and drive accordingly.
Support Country Office administrative functions when driver services are not needed including sorting and distributing incoming mail and faxes, photocopying, delivering urgent mail/messages, obtaining authorizations, shredding/disposing documents, handling courier services, filing documents and other office related functions as needed.
Assist and follow up of incoming shipments including customs clearances, as needed.
Provide any other relevant support to Country Office, as needed.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Have at least five years of experience as a driver, preferably with international organizations.
Have excellent knowledge of Mexico’s traffic rules and be extremely road safety conscious.
Proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
Be able to work under pressure, flexible with working hours and always punctual.
Have good communication skills and polite manners.
Be a committed team player able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Have mature judgment, strong integrity and sound ethical values.
Be willing to work overtime when needed.
Be able to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
