Purpose of the Job: The Area Sales Manager is responsible for crafting and implementing commercial strategies to ensure leadership in conventional cigarettes (CC) and smoke-free products (SFP). This role focuses on applying available resources and consumer insights to achieve these goals.
Principal Accountabilities:
Leadership in CC and SFP:
Ensure leadership in conventional cigarettes and smoke-free products in terms of volume and share of market.
Coordinate CC strategies to optimize resource efficiency and ensure accurate implementation of the national SFP strategy.
Commercial Plan Design and Implementation:
Design and align sub channel and chain strategies.
Co-develop and implement the national distribution strategy.
Develop strategies within the area of influence to meet volume and So M targets, supporting national and regional strategies.
Implement tactics to support digital strategies of Philip Morris Mexico.
Ensure team development and succession planning within the area of influence.
Team Development:
Fulfill People & Culture processes (selection, integration, MAP, performance calibration, and talent review).
Establish and supervise development plans for team members.
Conduct mentor and feedback sessions to ensure team members have the vital technical and functional knowledge and proficiencies.
Consistently monitor field activities of the team.
Sub channel and Chain Initiatives:
Define and direct sub channel and chain initiatives to ensure accurate distribution, portfolio, inventory, and product availability at points of sale.
Ensure alignment and feedback within the team to achieve objectives (internal PMM, critical metrics, Power ST & NIELSEN).
Implement and activate commercial platforms and programs, measuring their impact on critical metrics and demand generation for SFP's.
Business Relationships:
Establish and develop commercial relationships with PMM business partners.
Build an environment that develops identification of opportunities in strategy and program design and implementation.
Promote an environment of innovation and learning using PMI methodologies (test, measure, improve, and expand).
Distribution Strategy:
Define and ensure the distribution strategy in the area of influence to guarantee product availability for PMM's CC and SFP products.
Coordinate activities with the central team (leads, channel execution, stores).
Digital Strategies:
Ensure the implementation of digital strategies (Open & E-Ordering) for balanced development of combustible and smoke-free products.
Generate insights for central teams by understanding consumer preferences in the category and our brands.
Ensure the team understands the consumer journey in the region to own the execution of the commercial strategy.
Provide constant feedback to digital Trade Engagement teams regarding partner preferences and trends in communication application usage.

Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:
5-7 years of experience in Sales, Trade Marketing, or B2B/B2C business.
Knowledge of commercialization and distribution channels.
Negotiation with Key Accounts.
Experience in brand development through merchandising.
CRM knowledge (desirable).
Retail Management experience (desirable).
