Du Pont is looking for a talented Accountant to join our Controllership team in Mexico. This position will be primarily responsible for overall data integrity of the subsidiary’s financial statements, USGAAP and local GAAP compliance, support to internal teams (Corporate and Businesses), cross process coordination, account reconciliation coordination (and individual reconciliation), supporting statutory audits, process improvements and other related duties. You will interact with various teams in Accounting, Treasury, Procurement, Foreign Trade, Tax and Global Service Centers as part of your daily routine. Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
Define accounting procedures in compliance with local accounting policies, running SAP reports required to review Income Statement, Balance Sheets and Trial Balances, performing account reconciliations, analyzing trends and fluctuation analysis, comparing USGAAP and local books and analyzing differences, follow-up on unusual items, reviewing significant or unusual accounting entries, ensure corrections required are correctly recorded, etc.;
Perform accounts reconciliations and support/review reconciliations prepared by other departments;
Act as focal point for external financial and statutory filings necessary to meet internal auditing and governmental requirements, in compliance with USGAAP and local accounting principles and with various laws and official requirements;
Ensure timely and successful completion of external audits by acting as focal point for communications with the external auditors, ensuring information required by the auditors is provided on time, participating in review meetings, answering audit comments, etc.;
Act as consultant to area sub-process and other Finance processes in the region on financial accounting matters;
Coordinate and/or prepare reporting of regulatory surveys and other related duties;
Coordinate statutory presentations and responses to information requirements related to Financial Statements and legal books;
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
Relevant experience in Accounting;
Experience with SAP or comparable system;
Strong language skills: advanced English is required;
MS-Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) skills are required;
Highly organized and deadline driven individual that can deal with multiple conflicting demands;
Sense of urgency, attention to details and learning curiosity;
A professional who can work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage time to meet all deadlines
Must be able to identify root causes of issues and discover/implement practical solutions;
Helps to drive change to reduce complexity and challenges status quo in processes;
Recognizes cross-functional and cross-Finance impacts and takes action to address needs.
