The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of activities associated with Fund Accounting. The Head of IPM Fund Accounting EMEA has responsibility for multiple staff members and is expected to travel to lead this function, communicate strategy and priorities.
This role will be involved in finance activities, with a focus on streamlining accounting and treasury operational processes to enhance efficiencies and manage operational risk.

This person will be well-positioned for growth opportunities as the Alternatives platform continues to grow with the ever-evolving private markets industry.
Responsibilities include:

Leading the efforts to redesign the operating model to enhance business objectives around performance, productivity, accuracy, risk mitigation and client experience, as well as strengthening fund accounting support and rolling out best-in-class operating metrics to track performance and efficiency of the central administration function. The position requires defining and implementing a clear strategy for continually strengthening the control environment working in close partnership with all functions within IPM as well as Risk, Compliance, and other regional Fund Accounting teams, and ensuring appropriate operational control procedures and workflows are documented and maintained and are executed in accordance with local regulations and business needs.

Oversight of NAV calculations, waterfalls, fees, valuations, investment review, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, fund launches, and management of the operational activities of Fund Accounting, and ensuring that all work is organised and undertaken effectively, and in a timely and accurate manner to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and internal procedures.

Managing, through Senior Controllers, the external audit process on year-end audits to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of audited financial statements to our clients.

Leading the relationship with key accounting partners and ensure optimal quality of services and competitive pricing arrangements, renegotiating contracts as needed.

Playing a lead role in research and interpretation of GAAP applicable to managed funds. Provide technical and accounting support on all aspects of projects, including work on new launches and takeovers.

Maintaining a thorough understanding of each fund’s/portfolio’s financial positions, business plans, and KPIs and be able to respond to Board Member, Conducting Officer, key internal stakeholders, and client questions where applicable.

Participating in private markets-wide initiatives and integration. This requires the ability to identify and understand process flows, and ability to work with other business areas in determining the appropriate flow and maintenance of data integrity, controls, and efficient automation.

Leading the treasury function and define overall strategy and technology roadmap to best support the business, including, but not limited to, pricing assessment and optimization of cash reserves.

Defining the optimal team setup and composition, determining headcount needs and leading recruitment process for approved positions. Motivate staff and identify educational and growth opportunities. Ensure proper communication to staff regarding changing business and industry needs, and new GAAP and/or regulatory pronouncements.
