AML/KYC Analyst (m/f/x)


Department purpose
Our Luxembourg internal compliance team is in charge of ensuring that our group policies and procedures are kept up to date and reflect local Luxembourg law requirements. It works hand in hand with our legal practice groups and other support departments to address compliance issues and implement internal processes. It also collaborates with our UK-based global teams in charge of the on-boarding of new clients and client engagement terms.

Role purpose
The compliance analyst assists our legal teams with the on-boarding of their clients and the periodical review of the clients’ KYC files to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
The compliance analyst will work under the supervision of the firm’s regulatory and compliance in-house lawyer and the senior compliance analyst.

Role and responsibilities
The compliance analyst will assist with the implementation of our:

Matter opening procedure: confirm the form of engagement terms to be agreed with the client for each new matter and ensure proper record keeping of such terms once approved;

AML-CTF policy: run searches in available public websites and databases, analyse the ownership / control structure of the prospective clients, liaise with legal teams or their clients to collect KYC documents, liaise with the UK-based global team in charge of the on-boarding of new clients, review and update existing clients’ KYC files, prepare a risk assessment form for each matter to be approved by the relevant matter partner and ensure proper record keeping.

More generally, he/she will work closely with legal teams to ensure compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures in the areas of matter opening, AML-CTF and ensure that the process is as efficient and streamlined as possible, whilst remaining thorough and rigorous.

Key requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Law or Finance or Business Administration.
2-4 years of relevant experience, ideally in the legal / professional services sector.
Knowledge of the AML-CTF regulatory framework.
Ability to quickly assimilate internal processes.
Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
Professional working proficiency in English and French (oral and written).
Strong attention to detail and committed to quality and professionalism.
Self-confident and proactive in taking the lead on projects, following-up as necessary and interacting with relevant stakeholders.
Team player, open-minded.
Ability to set priorities, keep track of workflows and work with tight deadlines.
