The Tech Transfer Engineer, with expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI), oversees the transition and implementation of new technologies, products, or manufacturing processes across international sites. This role ensures that new products are successfully integrated into production facilities while maintaining efficiency, quality, and compliance with local standards. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth technology and product transfers, adapting to diverse regulatory frameworks, and ensuring seamless NPI execution.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineeringg (ME, EE Industrial engineer, etc.); master's degree preferred
3+ years of manufacturing and NPI experience in a regulated environment (ISO 9001), preferably in the medical device industry (ISO 13485)
Experience in leading production with overseas contract manufacturer
Willingness to travel abroad on a regular basis
Familiarity with PLM, ERP and CAD software
Ability to maintain positive vendor and client relationships
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Lead technology transfer projects between global R&D, manufacturing sites, and suppliers.
Collaborate with technical, quality, and operational teams to ensure successful process transfers.
Ensure proper validation, documentation, and adherence to local standards.
Drive the introduction of new products from concept to production, ensuring timely launch.
Collaborate with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to align product design with manufacturability and operational capabilities.
Develop and implement NPI plans, including risk assessment, process development, and production ramp-up strategies.
Lead design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) initiatives, ensuring smooth NPI transfer and efficient production processes.
Lead efforts to improve production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of newly introduced products.
Ensure new products and transferred processes comply with medical device regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Provide technical training to local teams to ensure they understand the new products and technologies.
Provide technical troubleshooting support post-NPI launch and technology transfer.
Work effectively with diverse teams across different cultural and regulatory environments.
Adapt communication and collaboration approaches to international teams, ensuring project objectives are met.
