Job Title: Personal Support Worker / Personal Assistant (PA).
Location: Ballyjamesduff area, Co. Cavan.
Job Purpose: To support a person with a physical disability (service user) by providing assistance with personal care, daily living tasks and social networking. Successful candidate must be available to attend mandatory training which is provided by the service user.
Please note: This is NOT a MEDICAL ROLE and previous experience (while beneficial) is not essential.
Hours of Work
· Up to 40 hours per week (including some weekend hours)
· Rate per hour up to €15 (Depending on experience)
· The successful candidate will be employed by Independent Living Options funded by the HSE.
Job Description
· Assisting service user in their residence and will include a program of personal care, toileting, showering, dressing, cooking meals, light household chores and laundry
· Driving service user to meetings, social functions (eg. shopping, football matches, cinema, meeting friends etc.)
Reporting to: Service User (Person with a physical disability)
Person Specification
Essential qualifications;
· Hold a current Manual & People Handling Certificate
· Computer skills (Zoom meetings & note taking, social media, email, basic typing etc.)
· Full clean driver’s license
You will likely have knowledge and experience of;
· Ability to take direction from the service user (person with a physical disability)
· Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of disability
· First Aid
You will be a person who;
· Agrees to Garda vetting
· Has good communication skills, friendly, good humoured, diligent and conscientious
· Excellent timekeeper, reliable and ability to work on your own initiative
· Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability as required

Further ‘on-the-job’ training will be provided in all areas, if and when required.
