Maintenance Planner

The Role:
Working closely with the maintenance managers, maintenance planners and craftspeople onsite. The Maintenance Planner will report to the Engineering Manager. This role is a key interface between maintenance and production functions onsite and will be responsible for developing work plans that ensure safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance in line with GMP standards of the food and nutrition industry. The successful candidate will be part of the maintenance leadership team and the role includes providing support for the Maintenance Managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Managing the daily/weekly maintenance planning meetings with Operations
· Work with site teams to continuously develop the operating performance through the employment of GPS tools and techniques
· Organising, prioritising, scheduling and resourcing of planned maintenance tasks
· Managing H&S including permit controls and risk assessments as per the GRMS (Glanbia Risk Assessment System)
· Developing and publishing weekly KPIs on planning performance
· Providing cover for Maintenance Manager duties when required, including management of short term contractors coming to site for planned maintenance activities
· Contribute to Plant CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives from an Engineering perspective while maximising the use of MES, SAP PM and other tools
· Will become the Department’s SAP PM “Power User”
· Will drive SAP PM improvement projects including development of MAMs (Mobile asset management) to enhance the system and its use
Experience/ Other:
· Excellent organisational and time management skills
· An understanding of manufacturing operations and equipment.
· Work to ‘best practice’ techniques such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma/GPS and drive Continuous Improvement projects
· Proficient user of MS Excel, Word, Power Point
· Knowledge of using SAP PM desirable
· Motivated and self driven
· Ambition with a willingness to develop the role and their own skills and knowledge
· Excellent communication & influencing skills
· Lateral thinking- continuous improvement and development
· Pro-active and self-driven
· Results-orientated
Education and Qualifications:
Third level qualification in Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical craft qualification with a proven track record in Maintenance Management/ Supervisory role
Job Type: Full-time
