We are looking for 20 experienced Ironworks to work on a variety of projects in Alberta and potentially across Canada. Job Responsibilities:
Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices
Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out.
Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment
Layout and plan the installation. Quantify and order required material
Provide input relating to the resolution of any design or installation issue
Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices
Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation
Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems
Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits
Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components
Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines
Skills and Experience:
Certified Journeyperson Trade Ticket (ability to obtain equivalency once in Canada)
2-3 years’ experience high voltage, lockout tagout experience including circuit isolation
2-3 Years’ experience in either industrial (Oil and Gas) or Maintenance projects
2-3 years’ experience Reading and interpreting electronic schematics, drawings, and aligning to provincial standards
2-3 years’ experience working with high voltage power equipment
2-3 years’ experience commissioning and decommissioning electrical systems
Mechanical ability, strength, and manual dexterity
Capable of working at various heights
The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
The ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately
The ability to get along well with others on a work team
Must be willing to work in remote job locations and at various heights
Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site
Proficient communication and reading skills
Ability to do very precise work
Ability to distinguish colors to work with color-coded wiring
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $45.33 - $50.00 (Canadian – CAD)
Shift Rotations: Varies per project (5/2, 10/4, 14/7, 21/7, 6/1)
10-hour shifts, flexible hours
Overtime: 1.5 times after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week
Paid overtime on scheduled days off
Benefits and compensation per Collective Agreement
6% vacation pay and 4% statutory holiday pay as per Collective Agreement
