Full job description Tax Assist Accountants Letterkenny require expressions of interest from qualified and experienced Bookkeepers on behalf of several of our clients to fulfil bookkeeping roles. Relevant Skills and Knowledge · Minimum 3 years Bookkeeping experience · Accounting knowledge and experience. · Understanding accounting best practices and standards. · Data entry and file Management skills. · High attention to detail and mathematical skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. · Knowledge and experience of SAGE, SURF, Quick Books or other accounting applications. · Knowledge and understanding of current VAT and PAYE legislation. · Knowledge and Experience of Payroll applications and understanding of current employment legislation. · Experience of running a weekly payroll (including manual holiday calculations) · Experience of producing monthly financial statement of accounts including management reports such as Aged Debtors, Aged Creditors and Bank Reconciliation · Experience of running reports and analysing financial data for invoicing accounts · Professionalism and organizational ability. · Understanding of Data Protection Act and how this relates to manual and digital data. · Proficiency and Fluency in the English Language (written and oral) Preferred Qualifications · Accounting Technician and/or higher or equivalent qualification. · Minimum 2 years data entry and Excel experience. · ECDL or other comparative Basic Computer application and File management qualification. · Minimum 2 years Payroll processing. Job Duties and Responsibilities · Maintaining an accurate record of financial transactions using manual and computer’-based systems. · Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system. · Reconciliation of bank statements. · Recording of entries for accounts receivable and accounts payable. · Debtor and Creditor account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions. · Running monthly systems reports to ensure all invoicing is up to date and accurate. · Ensuring all income and outgoings are up to date and in order. · Completing VAT Returns. · Completing a weekly payroll ensuring correct system backups and compliance procedures. · Producing monthly statement of accounts for suppliers and resolving customer/supplier queries. · Producing monthly management reports and monthly Accountants reports. · Liaising with Accountants to resolve regular queries.
