The Field Coordinator, Oil Palm Smallholder will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of a training programs for donor-supported farmer sustainability projects. The postholder supports the Team Lead/Team Manager, Palm Oil, in implementing all other palm oil and other related commodities field-related field programs in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The postholder will help in implementing a series of field activities in Ketapang District, West Kalimantan. The postholder will facilitate communities to develop their communication skills to have dialogue with other stakeholders, especially with private sectors and Ketapang district government. The postholder will contribute to plan training related to good agricultural practices, institutional strengthening, sustainability, develop training materials, monitor of field implementation, coordinate field work with others in the farm programs team, and support farmer access to preferred markets development from the commodity source. The postholder will take care of adequate communication and information exchange on field activities with all stakeholders at field level.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate oil palm smallholder inclusiveness works at field level
Coordinate the works and interventions related to oil palm smallholder inclusiveness in the landscape and jurisdiction level. The postholder will coordinate the works in promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Regenerative Agriculture, institutional strengthening, sustainability practices for oil palm growers and any other related activities.
Support landscape and jurisdiction on oil palm program
The postholder is responsible to support the implementation the landscape and jurisdiction level oil palm program.
Support oil palm related research and analysis
The postholder is responsible to support research at the landscape and jurisdiction level that related to program or project deliverables. The research might include governance and spatial planning research.
Report
Prepare and maintain periodical reports and analyses such as progress of transformation and outcome for internal and external use.
Support the oil palm program to conduct consultation and coordination with key stakeholders at the district/sub-district level on the issues related to oil palm
Support other duties assigned by Team Lead/Team Manager, Palm Oil.
General

Qualification:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in agronomy, biology, forestry, NRM, or other related fields.
2-4 years of professional work experience with organization and community in Indonesia farming sector; experience with oil palm plantation company is preferable.
Reasonable understanding of computer programs for reporting purposes (MS Office and Internet) and use of GIS tools are preferable.
Familiar with oil palm supply chains, production and processing activities, as well as issues, specifically related to smallholder farmer producer.
Knowledge on palm oil sustainability standards such as RSPO & ISPO is an advantage.
Strong written and verbal communications skills in Indonesian. Basic skill in English is a must.
Ability to work independently towards defined objectives and goals.
Willingness and ability to spend significant periods (about ± 70% of working days) in remote areas, in areas with some relative hardships in living conditions.
Willing to be based in Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan
