About the Australian Federal Police (AFP)
The AFP is Australia’s national policing agency. Our role is to protect Australians and Australia’s interests. We prevent and disrupt threats to lives, livelihoods and Australia’s way of life in Australia and overseas. As Australia’s international law enforcement agency, we coordinate all engagement with the foreign law enforcement community.
Our international role has 3 key elements:
Capability development – we help build the ability of international law enforcement agencies to combat crime that crosses international borders (transnational crime) and promote regional stability.
Collaboration – we collaborate with international law enforcement agencies to drive investigations.
Intelligence exchange – we exchange information to support domestic and international law enforcement efforts.
As part of the AFP’s International Network AFP maintains liaison offices in Indonesia within the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, and the Australian Consulate-General in Bali. The AFP also maintain staff to support the operation of the Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation, in Semarang.
About the position
The AFP Office Manager plays a key role in ensuring the effective operation of the AFP liaison office at the Australian Embassy Jakarta. Working to the AFP’s Senior Officer Indonesia, you will oversee daily office operations, manage a variety of administrative tasks, supervise a small team of locally engaged staff, manage important stakeholder relationships, and provide support to the delivery of the AFP’s transnational crime cooperation program in Indonesia. The role requires strong supervisory and administrative skills, initiative, flexibility, integrity, and good judgement.
