Job Overview:
The Associate Electrical Engineer is responsible for utilizing existing Electrical procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team and will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Electrical and Engineering. Develop and coordinate Facilities Dept works required in the Fab Yard (Capex, Opex, WP and WO). Monitor and collaborate the site execution works with site team and other stakeholders to ensure works are carried out on time, within budget, with high quality, safety and ethical practice. Daily Facility Engineer activities such as office buildings, housing compound and plants or work orders coordinator as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with the Company procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and standards for work to be performed and asked guidance where required
- Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks
- Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under the close supervision and mentoring of an experienced engineer
- Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures
- Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others
- Communicate information, asking questions, and checking for understanding
- Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements
- Perform calculations for the power distribution system
- Produce consumer lists from available equipment data
- Make sizing calculations of electrical equipment and components
- Populate electrical items in electrical databases like SPEL
- Make electrical one-line diagrams
- Prepare sketches of detailed design to guide Designers
- Requisition and specify simple bulk materials, including TBE and SDR
- Check drawings
- Keep the Lead Engineer apprised of all activities, progress, and concerns
- Develop an awareness of costs related to own work
- Develop a basic understanding of MDR's business and the customers it serves
- Develop basic knowledge of MDR's business units and interactions, including engineering and fabrication
- Develop advanced skills in the use of standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Reports to:
Project: Lead Engineer
Functional: Supervising Department Manager
Liaise With: Engineers, Design Supervisors and Designers of their own discipline
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering
- 0-3 years experience in oil and gas
- Learning the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable
- Learning design techniques and analysis methods
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Preferably a Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or a member of a professional engineering society
