TRADE MARKETING MANAGER
Job Summary:
The Trade Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in driving brand visibility , increasing market share , and maximizing sales growth. This position involves collaborating closely with sales, brand, and product teams to create and implement effective trade marketing plans that align with the company's overall business objectives . This role requires strategic thinking and involves leveraging a strong analytical background to understand market & retail dynamics, consumer behavior , and sales data to optimize trade marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and will possess expertise in sales analysis, business insights and trade marketing best practices to support the company's overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Market and Competitor Analysis: Perform ongoing market research and mapping, customer segmentation as well as competitor analysis to identify market trends, consumer preferences , and competitive positioning , providing actionable insights to the sales, product and marketing teams including new product/range proposals and pricing policies .
Sales and Business Analysis & Forecasting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports , utilizing data analytics tools. Conduct in-depth sales analysis (turnover, sales volume per SKU / brand / category/ market/ key account etc) and the impact of trade marketing activities on sales performance to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement as regards trade marketing & pricing strategies, promotional activities to drive business growth and improve market shares & penetration.
Trade Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive trade marketing plans that support the company’s sales and marketing objectives , in close collaboration with sales, marketing, and product teams to align with brand and product strategies and overall business goals.
Campaign Management & Retail Execution: Lead the development and implementation of retail execution plans, including merchandising, promotions, events and in-store activations , to drive product visibility, engagement, and sales. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop promotional materials, point-of-sale (POS) displays, and sales collateral to support product launches and seasonal campaigns. Sales team training on all relevant initiatives.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, distributors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful execution of trade initiatives. Support key accounts with marketing plans and campaigns in collaboration with Brand team
Innovation and Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends , innovations, and best practices in shopper marketing. Introduce new tools, techniques, and approaches to enhance campaign effectiveness and shopper engagement.
Budget Management: Develop and manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI on trade marketing initiatives .
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture not only within the trade marketing team, but also cross-functional between sales, marketing, product teams
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing or related field from a well reputable University with excellent academic record
MBA or master’s degree will be preferred
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in trade marketing , sales analysis , business insights, or related roles
Previous experience in the tools, machinery or chemicals industry will be preferred
Proven track record of developing and executing successful trade marketing plans and campaigns.
Experience in an omni-channel retail
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in Greek & English
Proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Power BI, Tableau).
Proficiency in ERP – CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
Internet and technology savvy and always up to date with the latest trends and technologies
Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team
Other EU language knowledge would be an advantage
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of retail dynamics, shopper behavior, and consumer psychology .
Excellent project management skills , with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business strategies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
