Medical Scientist (MSL) Liver Diseases (m/f/d) – North-East, (Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden)
Essential Duties and Job Functions
An exciting and challenging opportunity to join our Medical Affairs team in Germany has arisen. We are looking for a Medical Scientist (MSL) Liver Diseases (m/f/d) – North-East, (Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden)
The successful candidate will be fully responsible for all medical aspects of LVD to ensure future growth of this asset.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Proactive and reactive medical-scientific communication and education to physicians and other healthcare stakeholders in the field. This may include the organisation of local educational events.
- Understand the medical landscape in the assigned therapeutic area(s) and continuously gather insights from clinicians and researchers to inform the medical strategy. This may include the organisation of advisory board meetings.
- Development and implementation of an individual plan of action for the region.
- Identify and work with regional and national experts on various projects and other activities.
- Assists with Gilead clinical and real-world evidence studies, which includes collaboration with investigators and other personnel.
- Utilises scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations in a variety of different settings.
- Contributes to the development of educational materials such as slide decks.
- Travels to appointments, meetings, and conferences on a frequent and regular basis, occasionally with short notice.
- Presents scientific and clinical data internally and externally.
- Establishes strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators and providers at academic and non-academic settings.
- Assists with site selection for both phase 4 and other clinical trials.
- Anticipates obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolves them in a collaborative manner.
- The MS works collaboratively with Gilead personnel in Sales, Marketing, Clinical Research, Global Safety and Medical Information
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Advanced scientific degree (e.g. MD, Pharm D, Ph D, MSc)
- Previous experience as a Medical Scientist/Medical Science Liaison is preferred
- Ability to embrace Gilead’s patient-centric values, including highest ethical and compliance standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
- Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and prioritization
- Scientific and/or clinical knowledge in LVD/Infectious Diseases/Virology/immunology will be beneficial.
- The MS must be fully cognizant of all relevant scientific data.
- Must also be cognizant of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel. Must be committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge base.
- Must have the ability to work as a member of several teams that may overlap such as national MS team, regional sales team, national accounts, and others.
- Utilizes scientific resources for impactful presentations in a variety of different settings.
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations is required.
