Beiersdorf Canada Inc. is seeking a self-motivated individual who will deliver thought leadership and unlock commercial growth opportunities through the creation of winning, category centric strategies and the execution of effective category management principles.
Reporting to the Director, Category Advisors and collaborating closely with the Retailer team and utilising the full data and analytical resources of the company, the successful candidate will develop and leverage a deep understanding of the Retailer business, relevant categories and shopper profiles and apply these insights on your way to becoming a trusted category partner.
Further, the right candidate will also leverage their experience and expertise to build and raise the level of category management expertise across the department. The position is home-based out of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), its responsibility is nationwide.
Your Tasks
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Define long term category visions and category strategies that provide the framework for all category management deliverables at the Retailer
Create and manage category scorecards and develop meaningful, retailer-relevant actions focused on growth
Translate shopper understandings, consumer research, market data analysis and trend analysis into actionable, retailer-relevant category insights
Drive assortment management and define core assortment by category. Provide unbiased recommendations on optimal category assortment to the retailer based on clear understanding of product, segment performance and
current/ anticipated category trends. Track distribution performance
Develop recommended planograms based on a clearly defined shelf management strategy using purchase structure and other relevant insights. Monitor and track shelf metrics; develop strategies and tactics to further align
ambition vs the status quo
Identify, prioritise and execute category projects that embed the category strategy and will unlock category growth
Assist in the innovation market activation process by providing category insights and understandings, range and segment analysis, customer centric thinking and support for the Retailer category reviews
Leverage strong relationship building skills and excellent communication skills to influence key stakeholders
Your Profile
DO YOU POSSESS…
B BS/BA in relevant field, Marketing/Business Administration preferred
+3 years of experience in a Category Management or similar discipline
Direct experience working with Retailers
Ability to think strategically and increase effectiveness at achieving overall strategies in a highly collaborative environment
Ability to manage projects with deadlines to meet customer needs
Ability to develop strong relationships across many functions and external partners
Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and secure cross-functional support
Excellent analytical skills and business acumen to build strong business cases for change
Technology savvy and strong Nielsen, Retailer POS and JDA Space Planning expertise; office productivity software skills (e.g., Power Point, Excel)
