Your mission

Got Photo is looking for an enthusiastic Tech Accountant to join our Accounting & Taxes Team in Berlin to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting data and facilitate a seamless integration between our accounting function, product, and technology.
As we grow and expand, you support the development and maintenance of the organization's internal accounting backend module and related products.
This is a hybrid position: you must be located in or around Berlin and be able to commute to our office 1-2 times/week.
Contract start: 01.01.2025

Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Management:

• You support Got Photo's Back Office, manage international payments, ensure payment integration, and maintain Group Accounting knowledge.
  
• You write SQL queries for reconciliations, handle invoices, resolve issues, and assist with Month and Year End Closings.
  

Technical Responsibilities:

• You conduct QA and code reviews for the accounting backend, ensuring compliance and advising on financial data accuracy.
  
• You guide on tax compliance and make adjustments for legal or internal optimization needs.
  

Collaboration and Support:

• You work on cross-functional projects involving tech, payment, and accounting, resolving issues or escalating them as needed.
  
• You onboard and mentor new employees, sharing senior-level finance knowledge and supporting their understanding of Got Photo's finance processes.
  

We are looking for

• You have 3-5 years of work experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of German and US accounting principles and practices.
  
• You are proficient in accounting software (Datev, Quickbooks Online) and knowledgeable in taxes (VAT, income, payroll), reconciliations, and tax returns.
  
• You have experience with SQL
  
• You have strong problem-solving skills with proactive issue resolution and excellent communication with cross-functional teams.
  
• You are fluent in English and in German (B2 level)
  
• Nice-to-have: You have experience in writing code and code review (ideally in PHP)
