We are now looking for a Senior Specialist, Responsibility to join our Responsibility team for fixed term contract 1.12.2024 - 31.05.2026. Location of this position is preferably Helsinki or Tampere, Finland. Also, other UPM locations are possible.

You will have multiple roles in the Responsibility team where you will contribute to UPM’s ESG-related reporting and support its development, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and providing value to our stakeholders and contributing to the company’s overall sustainability targets. You will collaborate closely with UPM’s businesses and functions such as finance, sourcing, and HR. As a member of UPM’s Responsibility team, you’ll have the opportunity to actively contribute to our sustainability roadmap. Tuomas Niemi, Senior Manager, Responsibility
What you will do
- Contribute to UPM’s reporting and assurance process of UPM’s Group Sustainability Statement in compliance with CSRD/ ESRS and taxonomy requirements
- Follow-up on development of relevant reporting related regulation, contribute to commenting and implementation
- Develop UPM’s ESG reporting processes and controls in line with ESRS requirements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect and manage data from various internal sources and ensure data accuracy
- Training and supporting UPM’s businesses and functions globally in ESG data management and reporting
- Participate in development and implementation of UPM’s ESG data management and reporting tools
- Support in other topics in the field of sustainability
Who you are
- You have a relevant Master’s degree
- You have experience in non-financial reporting (e.g. GRI, TCFD, TNFD) and knowledge of CSRD/ ESRS requirements
- You have understanding of (sustainability) reporting verification processes or auditing principles
- You have the ability to analyze and understand research as well as legislation, and to identify relevant and valuable information
- You have good coordination skills and are an effective collaborator who can engage with different stakeholders with good interpersonal, influencing, and networking skills
- You take an interest in detail as well as an understanding of a wider context
- You have good written and verbal communication skills in English. Finnish and other language skills are considered as an asset
- Knowledge of financial reporting frameworks and processes is considered as a valuable asset
