Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior- or Principal Design Engineer, Mechanical at ABB Oy, System Drives division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. You will be working in our Order Based Engineering (OBE) team as a lead mechanical engineer and designer. In addition to that you work as team leader for our mechanical experts, role is not managerial. Our team will ensure superior customer experience, fulfillment of customer requirements, project engineering on time and in quality and continuous development. Your ambition is to place customer first and make quality happen. You will exceed customer expectations with seamless co-operation and collaboration with sales, product management, R&D, production and supply chain. First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is a good fit for our team, a person with the right attitude and willingness to grow into this role. You will be mainly accountable for: • Managing and maintaining project schedules, cost awareness, profitability, on-time delivery and quality aspects. Assigning tasks to mechanical engineers and ensuring that these are done in time • Mechanical design for order-based cabinet build frequency converters • Providing customer project related sales and production support • Ensuring that we can deliver quick results and excellent design quality to our customers • Creating and sustaining a positive team spirit and working atmosphere • We foster a collaborative environment where teamwork, mutual support, and open communication within the team are key to our successQualifications for the role
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in mechanical engineering or an equivalent degree
- Several years’ experience in a mechanical design of electronic devices, ideally you have experience about drives and ABB Drives products
- Understanding of database mechanical engineering systems such as Creo/Windchill
- Experience in SAP or other ERP tools
- Fluent written and spoken communication skills in Finnish and good English skills
