Your role and responsibilities
As a Purchasing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the procurement team, collaborating with the design department and production at Synchronous Machines for purchases of technically unique motors and generators. You will support the broader business by ensuring all purchasing activities comply with corporate policies and procedures, and by providing relevant market information. You will be mainly accountable for: •Clarifying technical specifications together with engineering and supply chain •Purchasing materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms, negotiating with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists, terms and conditions •Initiating purchase orders according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures •Overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues •Identifying and qualifying new suppliers together with supplier quality and engineering specialists •Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and priceQualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field of engineering or supply chain management, or several years of experience in supply chain management or a technical role, such as working as a Buyer or Technical Engineer
- Knowledge of SAP is beneficial
- Collaborative, solution-focused approach
- Strong Finnish skills and good written and spoken English
