Oxford Instruments is seeking a Buyer to join the team at our Espoo Site. As a Buyer you will be tasked with o rdering direct or indirect materials and services; management of nominated suppliers.
You will be responsible for placing Purchase orders and responsible for managing the open order lines; Responsible for effective supply chain and to be the primary point of contact for all logistical tasks.

Key Responsibilities : Site purchasing of materials and services to ensure optimal cost and delivery. Work with Operations Teams to implement, maintain and develop Kanban, VMI and other JIT delivery systems to control levels of inventory and satisfy parts availability. Prepare all relevant supply chain documentation for quotations incl. SOPs & test documentation where applicable. Support the Production Manager in selection of suppliers. Provide early warning of supply chain component risks and ensure these are highlighted and communicated to the commodity Production Manager, develop contingency strategy for high-risk parts. Ensure new parts for projects are available for prototype, pre-production and product launch. Daily review of MRP systems requirements where appropriate. Support process improvements to meet project targets and KPIs and actively participate in value stream mapping. Building and maintaining relationships internally and externally Develop and manage vendor relationships with the objective of developing Quality, Cost and Delivery performance. Identify, manage & mitigate supply chain risks to the business Minimise stock holding whilst ensuring production is maintained. Identify obsolete stock and ensure obsolescence is kept to a minimum Distributes Balanced Scorecard KPIs (Quality/Delivery/Cost) to achieve best practice targets. Assist in MRB & Vendor Return process. Build relationships with OI Group Operations personnel and other site Buyers. Ensure REACH and conflict minerals documentation is up to date & the business is compliant Updates ERP system (CSI) with new quote details.
Review supplier certifications and send requests for certs when needed. Take care of daily orders for Development team. Order in CSI, communication with supplier.
Responsible and solve communication issues with supplier in terms of orders, invoicing and shipping.
Responsible for customs documents for shipping and receiving goods.

What we are looking for:
Experience working in a purchasing department Ability to effectively analyse and present numerical data. Good communication skills with people at all levels Excellent attention to detail Computer literacy – good knowledge of Excel & Word essential and Access preferable Ability to prioritise diverse responsibilities. Commitment to undertake CIPS qualification would be an advantage. A knowledge of purchasing and supply chain processes. Teamwork skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills. A working knowledge and use of ERP and MRP for BOM, scheduling, forecast analysis, and capacity planning. Ability to negotiate commercial terms (particularly price) during an engineering change. Direct experience of maintaining and developing Direct Line Feed (Kanban) systems. Experience of purchasing from global suppliers would be an advantage. Ability to effectively analyse and present numerical data.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel Any other tasks associated with this role but not necessarily mentioned within this profile
