Brazilian Portuguese Language Specialist
Are you a language professional with a strong background in English and Brazilian Portuguese? We are now looking for a Brazilian Portuguese Language Specialist to join us as we prepare to enter the Brazilian market with our innovative language-learning solution. In this role, you will contribute to localizing our English materials into Brazilian Portuguese, with attention to both linguistic precision and cultural context.
At Master English, we are dedicated to revolutionizing English language learning with our fully digital solution. Following the success of our mobile app in the Spanish-speaking Latin America and the USA, we are now expanding into Brazil. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on the lives of Brazilian learners by tailoring content that is specific to their needs.
As a Brazilian Portuguese Language Specialist, you will play a key role in localizing and adapting the content of our English learning app for Brazilian users. Beyond translation, your input will help create an engaging and culturally tailored experience and influence how Brazilians learn and interact with English. Since 2017, we have been investing heavily in AI to transform language learning, and you’ll have the chance to leverage this technology in your work. Your knowledge of both languages will be essential in ensuring that the language experience is authentic and engaging. This is a one-year contract role, with the chance to extend based on the success of our Brazilian market launch. You will work closely with our English Language Specialists and other members of our multidisciplinary team.
Our spacious office is located in the beautiful Tampella area at Verstaankatu 1, 33100 Tampere. We value teamwork and close collaboration, which is why we work together at the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, while other days offer flexibility for remote work. The work is done during normal working hours with a sliding start time (7–9) and end time (15–17). The salary range for this position is 2700–3700 €/month.

What do we expect from you?
- Native-level proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in English, Portuguese, Translation, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in translation or localization work.
- English teaching experience.
- Understanding of the grammar, terminology, and teaching methods used in English teaching in Brazil.
- Attention to detail and precision to ensure accurate and high-quality translations.
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- Curiosity and openness to working with new technologies and AI.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills.
An outstanding applicant would also have:
- Experience in translating educational materials from English to Brazilian Portuguese.
- Deep understanding of the challenges Brazilian learners face when learning English.
- Familiarity with digital education tools and apps.
- Readiness to support marketing and customer success teams with localization and cultural expertise when required.
