The role
We are looking for someone newly educated to join our 9-month EM (Electron Microscopy) Graduate Programme, to strengthen the Field Service Team for our Electron Microscopy Service organization within the EMEA region.
The EM Academy Engineer role is an entry-level position within the MSD Electron Microscopy Services organization and is ideal for a graduate interested in becoming a field service engineer. The work consists of a specific 9-month training and development program with multiple formal instructor-led training courses at our global training centres alongside extensive time of on-the-job learning in the assigned region, with more experienced engineer mentors.
Within the 9-month EM Academy Graduate Program we are expecting you to travel extensively within the region to gain invaluable technical skills in electron microscopy and experience in field service activities on a variety of electron microscopy systems. Upon completion of the graduate program EM Academy Engineers will advance into fully fledged Field Service Engineer positions, delivering outstanding customer service for our Electron Microscopy customers in your assigned service area.

What will you do?
- Attend one of our factories for an intensive introduction to our electron microscopes
- Travel across the EMEA region to customer sites performing primarily planned activities including on-site installation, and preventive maintenance.
- Document work done and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Provide continuous feedback to team members striving for continuous improvement and alignment with team objectives.
- Complete the a9-month EM Academy Graduate Program and pass the end of program performance and skills review, to continue in role
- Foster and develop positive working relationships with Thermofisher Scientific colleagues and customers assuring the highest level of customer experience.
- Ensure full dedication and compliance company policies including all position specific Health and Safety laws and procedures.
What will you need?
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechatronics, mechanical / electrical / electronic, or equivalent engineering major.
- Recent graduates (within the last 24 months) preferred.
- Own or be able to obtain a valid passport and to travel up to 80%
- A valid driver's license.
- IT skills in Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
- Good standard English language, verbal and written
- Curiosity about technology with the motivation to develop own skills and knowledge within service engineering.
- Attention to detail with good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to carry out precision mechanical work.
- Some electronics or mechanical skills
- Good team player!
