We are looking for a skilled Data Architect to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing our sustainability agenda. By harnessing the power of data, you will play a crucial role in directly benefiting farmers and helping to develop innovative, data-driven solutions that advance sustainable and digital dairy farming.

“You will become part of the ASC (Agriculture, Sustainability & Communication) IT Department where you will be involved in expanding the data software platforms and digital solutions that support Arla's sustainability journey. Additionally, you will act as the right hand to the Data Platform Manager, assisting in leading the team and ensuring the architectural roadmap for the data platform.” says IT Manager, Stefan R. Stegaru

In our Agriculture, Sustainability, Communication (ASC) agile release train, we build the data integrations and platforms between the main systems inside our team, from other teams or with external data providers and consumers. We are on a bigger and exciting journey within our area, and you will find more like-minded people in our organization.

How you will make an impactAs a Data Architect, you will handle designing, developing, and implementing the departments’ data architecture strategy. You appreciate and understand diverse business needs, whilst proving strong solution insight and technical skills. You can execute on technical/functional implementations, present ideas, and interact with the business and IT stakeholders across all organizational levels in a professional manner. In addition, you will be working closely together with the Data Platform Architect, the Data Engineers and the other Solutions Architects, Developers, and Subject Matter Experts from the business. Moreover, you will collaborate with other technical teams to ensure the integration of our data systems and applications. As a Data Architect, you will play a key role in improving our data infrastructure and driving data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

Act as a team lead for the data engineers' team that is delivering solutions to the other technical teams in our department, and collaborate with these teams
Translating the business requirements and processes into solution designs ready to be implemented by the developers
Refine the user-stories with the technical description and acceptance criteria
Develop data models, database schemas, and data flow diagrams
Handle the non-functional requirements like documentation, security, testing and good development practices and improve and enhance existing data architecture

What will make you successful
We imagine that you:

Have 3+ years of experience in one or multiple of the following roles/similar positions: Data Architect, Back-end Software Developer, Data Warehouse Developer/Architect, BI Developer/Architect, SQL Developer or Data Engineer
Strong technical background in SQL and Python applied to Data Integrations, Data Warehouse and Data Applications
Proficient in data modelling and database design concepts and experience with data integration and migration projects
Deep knowledge of Data Architecture concepts: Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh etc.

You are a team player and take pride in continuous learning and improvements. In addition, you possess a structured approach, analytical mindset and have an eye for the details. Great curiosity and a passion for working with data and building IT solutions. You also can decompose problems and take great responsibility for your work. Lastly, you have good English skills are necessary in both writing and speaking.
