The Requirements

MSc or Ph D degree, or equivalent experience, in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering

Ability to work independently as well as in the team
-
Shown experience in using software in complex products with extensive hardware interactions
-
Knowledge of technology as well as operational optimization experience of analytical equipment, specifically electron/ion microscopes and other analytical techniques.

Fosters collaborative relationships and builds credibility across functions and teams.

Delivering successful products with a detailed understanding of quality systems.

Strong communicative skills (both verbal and written)

Ability to write (scientific) papers and other publications

Knowledge of programming would be an advantage

Ability to travel both domestically as well as internationally and possession of a valid passport

language skills (English), willing to learn Czech.
What projects will you work on?

The R&D scientist works at the intersection of Advanced technology, Product development, and Business unit teams.

This person will continually collaborate with our Applications, Systems, and Software groups to ensure system requirements are well understood, developed, coordinated, and thoroughly validated against customer use cases.

Proven success leading technical development and working in a multi-functional, global matrixed environment.

Due to the extensive integration of hardware and software in all company products, the successful Application Specialist will develop a detailed in-depth understanding of the application of our tools and the implications of using and testing software when sophisticated hardware interactions are at stake.

Provide technical, customer, and market feedback to Product Marketing and Program Managers; participate in defining the needs for new product development based on the newest technology.

Conduct customer demonstrations and jobs (e.g., concept-proofing new applications), participate in technical discussions, and collaborate with customers on specialized training.
