About the Role: As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a critical role in managing the logistics and administrative aspects of litigation cases. You will collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be fluent in written and oral English and fluent in spoken Spanish, with professional expertise in legal research, proficient in handling legal paperwork, and possess a comprehensive understanding of New York laws and procedures. Experience in personal injury law is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and court filings.
Organize and maintain case files, documents, and evidence in compliance with firm policies.
Assist in drafting and preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Facilitate communication and coordination between attorneys, clients, and external parties.
Conduct legal research on case laws, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation matters.
Monitor case timelines and ensure timely completion of legal tasks.
Assist in trial preparation and provide support during hearings and trials.
Implement and improve operational processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in litigation support.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a paralegal or similar role within a law firm in New York.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in legal research, document management, and case management software.
Knowledge of litigation procedures, legal terminology, and court rules in New York.
Only candidates with proven paralegal experience will be preferred.
