Job Overview: The Sales/Estimator will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and accurately estimating project costs for data and fire protection systems. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and deliver tailored solutions. Key Responsibilities:
Sales Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the data and fire protection sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors.
Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and competitor activities.
Estimating:
Prepare accurate and competitive project estimates based on client specifications and project requirements.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and costs.
Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure all estimates align with project goals.
Proposal Preparation:
Develop detailed proposals and presentations for clients, showcasing our solutions and services.
Address client inquiries and provide technical support during the proposal phase.
Negotiation:
Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to secure profitable agreements.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution post-sale.
Reporting:Track sales metrics and prepare regular reports on sales activities and project estimates.
Provide feedback to management on market trends and client needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in sales and estimating within the data or fire protection industry.
Strong understanding of data and fire protection systems, codes, and regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
