Job Title: Professional Truck Driver Start Date: Immediate Compensation: Flexible Job Description: We seek a highly skilled and experienced Professional Truck Driver to join our team on a contractual basis. This role is critical in supporting our operations across rural and northern Manitoba, particularly in transporting building and construction materials. The position demands a high degree of expertise in navigating challenging road conditions, including winter roads and ferry entries/exits. Mandatory Requirements: Class 1 Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Class 1 license. Drivers License Abstract. Work Authorization: Must have valid authorization to work in Canada. Experience: At least 3 years of professional driving experience in Manitoba. Local Knowledge: Familiarity with rural and northern Manitoba communities; comfortable living and working in these areas. Specialized Skills: Proficiency in driving semi-trailer trucks, including during ferry operations. Experienced in navigating winter roads when ferry services are unavailable. Experience in handling and transporting building/construction materials. Flexibility: Open to flexible work schedules and assignment locations within Manitoba. Role Responsibilities: Safe operation of semi-trailer trucks across designated routes. Timely transportation and delivery of materials. Compliance with all transportation laws and regulations. Maintenance of accurate logs and records. Contract Duration: The initial contract will run until October 31, 2024, or until ferry services into the community are no longer operational, whichever comes first. There is a potential opportunity for contract extension and progression to full management of the truck, offering paid transport services to other local communities.
