EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Position: Experienced plaster/painter (s) Reports to: Project Manager Location: Various locations in Northern Ontario & Northern Labrador – Camp Rotation Summary Under the general supervision of the Project Manager, the plaster/painter will have knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety. The Plaster/painter must be proficient at the following tasks: read blueprints and must possess mathematical skills and analytical skills. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors & window casings
- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers as needed.
- Drywall and finishing experience
- Must be comfortable working at heights and be willing to complete fall arrest training.
- Willing to work in inclement and all-weather conditions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school is usually required or equivalent.
- Previous plaster/painting experience.
- Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or combination of five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $275.00-$325.00 per day Schedule:
10 hour shift
