Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and other specimen collections in a clinic setting. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and proficiency in medical terminology. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely specimen collection for diagnostic testing.
Duties
Perform venipuncture for blood collection while adhering to safety protocols.
Ensure proper identification of patients and labeling of specimens to maintain accuracy.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment and supplies.
Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate any concerns.
Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow.
Document all procedures accurately in patient records and laboratory information systems.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Experience
Previous experience in a laboratory or hospital environment is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology related to phlebotomy and patient care is advantageous.
Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures with precision and care.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients.
Attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
