Personal Care Attendant/ Housekeeping positions available General accountability: Reporting to the resident care manager, the personal care attendant/housekeeping gives primary care to the residents such as medication, personal hygiene and performing housekeeping duties in order to maintain a pleasant, safe and healthy environment As a staff member, each member plays an important role in the well-being of our residents, consequently each employee is asked to maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times to ensure a stress free and comfortable setting for residents and to treat the residents as well as the colleagues with dignity and respect. Key responsibilities The incumbent performs all of the following duties Personal care attendant duties:
Answer call signals
Aid with bathing, dressing, and grooming residents
Assist with meals, may serve meal trays, feed or assist in feeding residents
Administer and log medication (insulin)
Provide companionship
Accompany residents to various appointments and or on outside recreational activities (using the company van)
Assist with everyday needs
Take patients blood pressure, temperature and pulse; observe and or monitor residents status
May perform tasks such as cleaning and or sterilizing equipment and maintaining equipment
Perform other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor
Housekeeping duties:
Dust, vacuum, mop, scrub and sweep residents rooms, hallways, dining and social areas
Clean and disinfect washrooms, toilets, sinks, baths and fixtures
Wash windows
Empty garbage containers (common area and rooms)
Replace toiletries
Preform laundry services for residents
Change the linens and freshen beds
Preform other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor
