Community Living Alternative Services (CLAS) is currently seeking individuals to fill the position of Enhanced Outreach Support Worker. Unlike many Outreach positions, this one has a higher focus on supporting individuals with multi-diagnoses complex needs, which may involve instances of homelessness, addictions issues, sexual exploitation histories, and violent behaviours of concern. The position also retains the regular Outreach requirement of community participation and facilitating community access for persons with disabilities. There are no in-home supports required for the role. Position Summary: This is a front-line community disability services role that has responsibility to support and facilitate community access and the development of skills and competencies that will assist persons with disabilities to pursue and fulfill their goals, objectives and aspirations. This is not an entry-level position. You will bring: A minimum of 1 year of experience in providing support to individuals with disabilities. Specifically, we are looking for staff who are knowledgeable in some or all of the following areas: PSECA (sexual exploitation), Addictions, Homelessness, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, and mental health support needs. Schedule: Friday & Saturday 9am-2pm, Sunday- 2pm-7pm
Confidently provide front line, face-to-face support to individuals with varying challenges
Assist individuals in the development of social skills and meaningful relationships
Assist and support individuals to access and participate in the community
Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess intermediate computer skills
Display professionalism
Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Support self and others with strong time management and organizational skills
Work independently
Maintain composure when challenged by others
Identify issues, set priorities, and implement an appropriate plan of action
Proven ability to work collaboratively
Be aware of and adhere to established policies, practices and operational protocols
