Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 1 or Class 3 Truck Driver to join our team part-time. You'll be driving an automatic Kenworth T880 Roll-Off Bin Truck. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting woodchips between North Vancouver and Pitt Meadows/Surrey areas. This role would be ideal for someone looking for a flexible days, 6-12hrs per week role. Experience is a must. Perfect part-time job for an off-duty First Responder with Class 3.
Duties
- Operate automatic Kenworth T880 truck to transport woodchips in roll-off bin to designated locations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load bins onto truck, dump bin at chip dump, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo/bin during trips.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on highways and local roads.
Skills
- Proven experience with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class 1 or 3.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation and freight handling procedures.
- Familiarity with automotive repair techniques is a plus for maintaining vehicle performance.
- Ability to operate excavator for loading woodchips would be beneficial but not required.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to tight schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols while on the road.
