Outside Contractor Sales ICS
Commercial Sales Representatives partner with contractors to fully understand their needs and assist in supplying and completing construction projects. As knowledgeable sales professionals, commercial sales representatives can make recommendations to provide customers with possible solutions.
Commercial Sales Representatives could be present both on the road and in the branch, depending on customer needs.
Typical career steps are to move to a different specialized role in commercial or industrial sales, branch manager, or to become a district sales manager.
We are currently hiring an Outside Contractor Sales Associate for our new Industrial Commercial Supplies store at – 38 Mc Carville Street, Charlottetown
Shift: 7:00am-4:30pm
Wage: 34,000-55,000 +commission
Responsibilities:
Industrial Commercial Supplies (ICS) provides building materials specifically for commercial and industrial projects in Atlantic Canada. We are dedicated to serving commercial contractors with specialty commercial products for the entire building envelope. We work with the best brands in the commercial building space for interior fit up, commercial roofing, foundation supplies, above and below grade membranes and coatings as well as the required tools and accessories.
As a part of the Retail and Distribution Division of JD Irving Limited, we strive to deliver exceptional customer service through our fast and flexible fleet delivery system, technical expertise, and commitment to safety. While focusing on continuous business improvement, we are dedicated in developing our people by providing on-site training and promoting our values within the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates high standards of safety and customer service
- Is a resource of knowledge for our customers
- Produces quotes, material lists and follows up on deliveries
- Achieves weekly, monthly and annual sales targets
- Maintains a contact list and contact schedule for prospective and existing customers
- Grows the geographic sales area by building new relationships with contractors and strengthening relationships with existing accounts
- Cold-calling new customers to build their business portfolio
- Continually learns about products and market conditions
- Independent, problem solver
- Confident, energetic and self-motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, and can manage changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to quickly develop a trusting relationship with new customers, and build rapport with existing customers
- Experience in sales is preferred
- Knowledge of construction products is an asset
- Ability to work remotely from varies locations
- A valid driver’s license is required
