Currently, Cas Com is looking for an experienced technician to monitor, support, and manage various technology projects and installations at locations throughout Canada. This position will include onsite and remote support, optimization, monitoring, and maintenance of all aspects of client networks and hardware. The successful candidate is an effective team member that can work independently using their initiative and deliver results. They are flexible to the requirements of the IT industry and can find solutions to challenging problems. They will have strong interpersonal skills and will communicate effectively with clients and within diverse groups with various cultural backgrounds and skill levels. This position is designated as remote role, with regularly scheduled travel to our head office in Yellowknife, with periodic travel to remote locations to support our clients locations throughout Canada, rural, remote and the Arctic regions to complete in-person projects as needed. While this position is designated as "Hybrid-remote", preference will be given to candidates willing to relocate to Yellowknife. Some specific responsibilities and duties listed below:
Firewall and security appliance management and configuration
Network management and optimization, wired and wireless
Windows and Linux Server both Physical and Virtual Machine Support (Hyper V/VMWare/KVM)
VOIP Telephony and PBX Support
Develop and deploy technical projects for new and existing customers.
Technical writing and documentation including workflows and network diagrams.
Travel may be required
Providing excellent customer service and able to communicate effectively with non-technical clients.
Qualifications:
A+, Network +, Security+, MCSE, MCITP, MSCA, CCNA or equivalent is a plus
Experience in network routing, VPN systems, and VLAN configuration.
Experience in virtualization, data and system backup and recovery, enterprise email systems.
Experience supporting corporate networks.
Experience in Microsoft server management and support including Domain and Active Directory configuration.
Experience using a ticketing system to track service tickets and technical time daily.
Beneficial:
Familiarity with non-standard connectivity solutions.
Structured cabling best practices, fiber optic cabling, hardware installations, and other IT related installation work.
LMR/Two-way radio experience.
Additional:
A proven track record for excellent customer service is required.
Written and verbal communications in English is very important.
The applicant must be bondable with a current criminal records check completed and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
