Overview
Mortgage Broker seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide underwriting and clerical support by collecting documents, ensuring compliance, and carrying out other administrative tasks under direction from the broker.
Ideal position for someone who is interested in learning to become a broker, and wants to enter the industry as part of a high performing team; will receive one on one training, support on files, incentives, bonuses, and a career as part of an established team. Duties:
- Assist in evaluating mortgage applications and reviewing client documentation
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information or clarify details
- Organize and maintain accurate client records, compliance check lists, and file histories\
- Serve as a bridge between the broker and clients/underwriters/lending partners, by responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing updates on loan applications Requirements:
- Proficiency in clerical tasks such as underwriting, analysis of financial documents, and other similar duties pertaining to the loan origination process.
- Strong customer service skills with experience in customer support and administrative roles
- Ability to proofread documents for accuracy and completeness
- Proficiency using Mac software(s)
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills, aptitude for time management
Considered An Asset: - Previous experience in administrative, underwriting, or similarly related roles - Understanding of mortgages and the loan origination process - Previous experience and/or understanding of the real estate industry - Previous experience with CRMs (specifically Filogix Expert Pro) -Creative outlook, and outside the box thinking Position Details: -Salary & structure of compensation will significantly vary based on applicant's experience, skill level, their capacity, etc and will be discussed on a case by case basis but may range between $20,000-$65,000/yr (as a starting salary), with room to grow based on performance - Possibility for bonuses based on performance, volume and efficiency - Business casual dress - Hybrid position (between in-office & remote) - Semi-flexible work hours (based on work load and volume) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20,000.00-$70,000.00 per year Benefits:
