Position Summary

We are looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician for the Oswego Hotel.
Scope:
Oversees the physical property and supervises maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities:
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 32 per week

Position Summary

We are looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician for the Oswego Hotel.
Scope:
Oversees the physical property and supervises maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of plumbing, hotel rooms, A/C and heating, lighting, emergency generators, etc.
- Responsible for liaising with various tradespeople including plumbers, electricians, painters, appliance repair, etc.
- Ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed on a timely basis and according to specifications/ schedules.
- Assists in maintaining an ongoing preventative maintenance program for the hotel.
- Responds quickly to guest and staff maintenance requests in a friendly and professional manner. Follows up to ensure issues are resolved to satisfaction.
- Provides a professional image at all times through appearance, hygiene, dress, and vocabulary.
- Ensures hotel is in compliance with all relevant federal, provincial and municipal laws, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Fire Safety Act BC, Work Safe BC, etc.
- Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience required
- Hotel experience an asset
- General experience with plumbing, carpentry, electrical, cleaning, painting, HVAC and mechanical issues.
- Competent with hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of automated building systems, keycard locks, HVAC systems
- WHMIS training.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Adaptable to changing demands.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Able to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends.
- Ability to carry out instructions accurately with minimal supervision.
- Are physically fit and able to stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 50lbs, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management skills.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 32 per week
