On-line Industrial Powder Coating course

Minimum 1 year in paint prep or paint

Safety training
-
WHMIS
-
Experience in a factory environment an asset

Ability to apply powder coat up to quality standards

Ability to complete basic touch ups or repairs on paint surfaces

Ability to tape off or plug areas where paint is not required
-
Ability to do quality testing on finished product
Paint Prep Accountabilities:
-
Chip any excess spatter and material off weldments
-
Remove paint marker from tubing
-
Sand parts
-
Organize parts in the planned order required
-
Hang parts in a consistent manner for the Painters
-
Dip metal parts in chemical baths to prepare surface
-
Acid washing all parts
-
Rinsing all parts off with water
-
Pulling parts into the dry bay and immediately drying off all excess water
-
Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
-
Working in manufacturing plant environment
-
Some exposure to potentially hazourdous environments requiring protective equipment
-
Employee may be exposed to dust, odors, fumes and high levels of noise at times
-
Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required
-
Exposure to temperature fluctuations
