Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures ILS Assistants create a welcoming, clean, safe, trusting, and unified home and supportive environment. Ensures diverse spiritual approaches are respected and time for meaningful reflection is shared.
- Nurtures the gifts and growth of all ILS Assistants, including members with developmental disabilities in the homes. Leads processes, such as annual reviews, circles of learning, roles and goals meetings, and individual planning and development.
- Ensures adherence to all policies, guidelines, and regulations as required by Department of Community Services and met and maintained.
- Encourages, teaches, and supports ILS Assistants to lead regular celebrations in the home and supports ILS Assistants to understand and maintain the traditions.
- Provides stability in the homes and the ILS program during times of change and transition.
- Seeks out opportunities for personal growth and reflection
- Set schedules, training and formation times, and support resources as necessary for the ILS Assistants
- Is proactive in understanding and supporting the ILS Program and its members by way of ensuring budgets, shopping, maintaining household needs, meal planning, work
opportunities, transportation, and medical needs are fully supported by the assistants working in the program.
- Effectively communicates and works with families, guardians, and professionals as required.
- Is an effective team member and collaborates with other ILS Leaders in the Atlantic Region to share best practices.
- Is an effective team member of the Team Leaders at L’Arche Homefires.
- Ability to be flexible to work some evenings and weekends
