Home Care Worker
Looking for: Home Care Worker- In Private Residence
I’m Looking to hire a reliable Home Care Worker to provide care and assistance with activities of daily living for a 30 year old male resident (quadriplegic) at home. Experience in the field preferred but not required. Specific training for the daily routine and needs will be provided. 20-30 hours a week. Schedule to be discussed and additional hours could be available. Also seek a second person to work a few days a month.
CLIENT’S CAPPABILITY- Paralyzed from the chest down but has the use of arms with slightly limited hand mobility. Once showered and dressed is quite independent and uses a manual wheelchair.
BASIC CARE Includes
-Preparing meals
-Unhooking night catheter bag and disinfecting daily. Draining daytime catheter bag as needed.
-Assisted bowel routine Mon-Wed-Fri (Worker will be trained Digital stimulation method by current care worker)
-Transfer Ing to shower chair from bed and assisting with shower routine
-Bring awareness to any skin areas that may need attention if there is signs of redness or marking. And applying any Needed bandages.
-Dressing in bed before transferring to manual wheelchair for the day
-Perform housekeeping duties. Vaccuming, mopping, laundry, emptying and loading dishwasher, cleaning windows, wiping down mirrors and taps, cleaning toilet and shower etc
-Check medical supplies inventory and keep a list of things that need to be ordered.
-Assisting with errands and appointments
EMPLOYEE SUITABILITY
-Very dependable
-Previous experience as a personal support worker preffered. ( Caregiver, Support Worker, PSW, LPN Licensed Practioner Nurse )
-Seeking long term employment
-Able to work efficiently
-Able to take direction well
-Very well co-ordinated and physically capable to assist with sliding board transfers into and out of bed
-Able to complete routine tasks working either with me or without supervision
-Mindful in providing care and supportive
-Someone who takes satisfaction in keeping things tidy and clean with attention to detail
HOME SETTING
-Very clean home
-Dog in the home
-2 other family members live in the home
Candidate Requirements
Salary: $25.00 /hour
Job Types: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

- Driver license
- Responsible and reliable candidates only
- Clean criminal record
- Double vaccinated
