Under the supervision of the mechanic foreman, the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician performs mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance and repair work on heavy vehicles and other mobile equipment in our clients facilities. Main responsibilities:
Ensure preventive maintenance on heavy vehicles;
Determine the nature of defects and failures and make recommendations on the type and extent of repairs to be carried out;
Perform repair reports with the identifications of the breakages causes;
Adjust, repair and/or replace defective parts in respect of the highest quality standards, using hand and power tools;
Test repaired equipment to ensure repairs meet requirements;
Read plans and diagrams to determine how to proceed;
Validate and follow up on parts availability;
Any other related tasks.
Job Requirements:
Mechanical trade certification or equivalent experience;
Red seal certification is an asset;
Minimum of 3 years experience with Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanics;
Experience with troubleshooting;
Ability to read plans and diagrams.
