Harvest Team Lead
Overall Job Purpose:
The Harvest Team Lead will help direct workflow and lead workers in a positive productive manner. This position requires a level of comfort in directing others and carrying out tasks and processes. Where harvest activities are limited, the Harvest Team Lead will help organize and support workers in general cultivation tasks. This role is responsible for overseeing 8-12 employees and controlling the workflow and procedures of harvest or cultivation in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hardworking, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.

Job Details:
Rate of Pay: $19.00 per hour
Position Status: Full-Time, Hourly, Permanent Position
Benefits: Group Health, Dental and Vision Plan & corporate gym memberships after 3 months of employment.
Schedule: Regularly 6:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday (subject to change and occasional additional shiftwork as per operational requirements)

Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Assist the Harvest Supervisor and Harvest & Curing Manager prepare for the harvest day which includes maintaining efficiency with time management
- Knowing updated/proper operating procedures, use proper equipment and/or tools and knowing the expected goal or outcome of a procedure
- Monitor activities of workers during their assigned tasks, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and company policies

Setting high standards within the harvest team to reach the required goals and highest quality products
- Maintain open communication with management team and coworkers, providing verbal direction, training information and policies as needed
- Ensure all team members are always treated with respect

Support Harvest leadership in conducting performance management conversations and appraisals.
- Ensuring employee privacy is maintained in these matters.
- Motivate co-workers from a peer-to-peer standpoint
- Maintain and assist in inventory of supplies

Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with company and Health Canada regulations
- Participate in the company Health & Safety Program and comply with all health and safety related policies and processes
- Other duties as required

- Assisting leading a team of approximately 12 workers

Must be able to complete duties with minimal supervision and comfortable working independently and safely in a group environment
- Must be willing/able to work in a social environment
- Must be comfortable with completing highly repetitive tasks with focused attention
- Fast-paced, production-focused role
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50lbs), standing, walking, sitting for prolonged periods of time

Ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to hearing protection, medical gloves, safety eyewear, face masks, half-mask respirator, etc.
- For half-masked respirator your face will need to be clean shaven
- This position will involve exposure to fresh cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis or plant pollen, or for anyone that experiences medical issues as a result of exposure to cannabis/plant materials

Must be willing and able to work in environments with variable temperature (indoor and outdoor) and humidity, and variable lighting.
- Harvest Area: loud machinery, cool environment regularly (approx. 17° Celsius),
- Greenhouse: high heat and humidity (30+ degrees/55+ humidity), bright LED lighting
- Must be able to work in an environment that uses cleaning products including, but not limited to, Simple Green, AM 717, Caustek Free, Powerquat, and Isopropyl Alcohol.
- Strong scent of fresh cannabis plants
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-year experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced, production environment is an asset
- Horticulture/agriculture or manufacturing education/experience is preferred

Meticulous attention to detail in repetitive tasks
- The ability to work in a results-oriented, time-sensitive environment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Access to reliable transportation to work full-time hours as scheduled (40 hours per week)
- Must have the ability to provide a criminal record check that is clear of any charges that could be related or have a direct correlation to the position or company
- All employees must be 19+
